Former Renault failure driver Romain Grosjean has won his maiden GT race on his debut! And here we were thinking he couldn’t drive a nail through a block of wood!

Partnered with Thomas Mutsch, the young Frenchman won the opening round of the 2010 FIA GT season, held at Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina circuit, at the wheel of a Matech Ford GT.

Grosjean won by more than 20 seconds after the chequered flag fell at the 60-minute mark.

Grosjean should be well-pleased with his performance, as the GT Championship field hosts several former F1 racing and test drivers: Michael Bartels, Ricardo Zonta, Enrique Bernoldi, Matteo Bobbi, Tomas Enge, Bas Leinders, Karl Wendlinger, and Mika Salo.

Congratulations Romain!
