The cars won’t be the only stars appearing on track at the Top Gear Live Festival at Melbourne Showground’s this weekend with the Renault Sport Celebrity Challenge and V8  Drivers Challenge pitting some of the biggest names in sport and entertainment against each other on the purpose built track.

Celebrities such as Sam Newman, Livinia Nixon, Grant Hackett, Lehmo, Matt Welsh, Glenn Archer, Paul Chapman, James Kelly, Brodie Harper, Jonathan La Paglia and Melbourne Storm’s Cameron Smith are just some of the big names that will pilot Renault’s Clio R.S. 200 Gordini Edition around the 1.52km Top Gear Live track.

Australia’s premier motor racing category V8 Supercars have also confirmed their participation in the V8 Drivers Challenge where they will race against the clock contesting three consecutive laps in three different cars – but not the vehicles you might expect…

Mark Winterbottom, Lee Holdsworth, Craig Lowndes, Greg Murphy, Jamie Whincup, Tony D’Alberto, Luke Youlden, Michael Caruso and Steven Richards will all jump from an Arrow two-stroke racing kart straight into a production road car, with the finale, a lap in the infamous Top Gear Peel car (smallest car in the world).
