Hispania Racing has announced it has signed a sponsorship deal with Panda Security for the 2011 season. The Bilbao-based computer software company will provide HRT with a modern computer server, email and internet protection at its Spanish headquarters.
Additionally, the outfit will also be provided with on-location security worldwide with Panda’s Cloud Protection system, which is recognised as blocking up to 99.4% of internet virus attacks. The sponsorship deal will see Panda’s logos on team and driver uniforms for the 2011 season.
“Hispania Racing is a fantastic team, as well as the only Spanish team in the Formula 1 circus at present,” said Panda Security’s CEO, Juan Santana. “We are extremely happy to announce this sponsorship agreement and we are sure their 2011 season will be a success.”
HRT’s president and principal shareholder, José Ramón Carabante, added: “For us it is very important to have the support of a leading security company like Panda Security in our second season in F1. We are working towards consolidating the project we started last year, and in that context it is fundamental for us to establish strong alliances with leading companies like Panda Security. This agreement will undoubtedly serve to meet one of our main objectives: to promote Spain all over the world through the powerful platform provided by Formula 1.”
The deal is important news for the tail-ender outfit, which launched its new F111 challenger with plenty of free sponsorship space on the car’s flanks and wings, amid ongoing suggestions that it’s financial health is not in the best shape.
