Reports on the ground at Sepang are that rain has started to fall on the Kuala Lumpur venue, which plays host to today’s late afternoon start of the second race of the F1 championship season.

Perhaps the biggest surprise of the weekend is that the much-expected rain has failed to affect any of the practice or qualifying sessions this weekend so far, but one thing is for certain when the rains comes down here…

“We know that here, when it rains, it falls in torrents,” said Fernando Alonso, in what will possibly be the understatement of the day…
