Wilson Security has confirmed the much expected news that it will partner with the Volvo Polestar Racing team as its title sponsor for the next two seasons.

“Synergies between brands are often spoken about in situations like this, but we’re genuinely excited about this partnership as we can see clear opportunities for all parties,” Asia-Pacific CEO for Wilson Security, John McMellan, said in today’s announcement.

“We have been keeping a close eye on Volvo and Polestar’s progress in their debut season of the V8 Supercars Championship, and it’s not often you get the opportunity to partner with a global luxury car manufacturer so we’re looking forward to it.”

The firm recently announced their end-of-year exit from a two-year partnership with Dick Johnson Racing, adding fuel to the ultimately correct speculation that it was linking up with the Garry Rogers Motorsport run team next year.

Adding to the speculation are rumours that one of Dick Johnson Racing’s two current drivers – David Wall or Scott Pye – will move with Wilson Security to the factory Volvo team, leaving Swedish import Robert Dahlgren without a drive.
