Daniil Kvyat has suggested that he is on the lookout for a new team for the 2017 season after the treatment he received at Red Bull.

The Russian was switched with Toro Rosso’s Max Verstappen after the Russian Grand Prix, where he crashed into the back of Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel. This gave Red Bull the perfect opportunity to get Verstappen in the team and move Kvyat back to his old team.

Now after having trouble with his car for the second race in a row, this time due to technical issues, Kvyat feels it would be a suitable option to move on for the team he’s been with since 2010 when he was 16 years old.

When asked if he was looking for a drive outside of Red Bull Kvyat replied with “I have already said, yes.”

“I am giving my absolute best to Toro Rosso and I want to reward this team with a lot of points. But you cannot start in a race where should have been in the race to score a lot of points, it’s really frustrating.

“I want to give everything to this team, but when all of these things start to go wrong you look for a change of the situation.”

Despite not having an official manager due to being a part of the Red Bull program, Kvyat may already have something he’s working on for the next season.

“Everyone is human and everyone can talk. If we need to talk, we talk. When there is a time to tell something to the media I will let you know. At the moment I don’t want to let you know.”

With the news breaking today that Toro Rosso will be using Renault engines for the next two season, Kvyat’s response to the deal doesn’t seem enthusiastic for a driver wanting to drive for Toro Rosso next year.

“I am not following these things anymore,” Kvyat said on the engine deal.

“At the moment it means nothing.”
