Rising star Chaz Mostert will race with a revamped look adoring his SuperCheap Auto Racing Ford FG X Falcon in the 2017 Australian Supercars Championship.
Launching his 2017 livery scheme on the eve of the championship’s opening pre-season test at Sydney Motorsport Park, Mostert is hoping to bounce back from a winless 2016 campaign by reuniting with his former engineer, Adam De Borre, who returns to Prodrive after a season at DJR Team Penske.
The pair had a successful partnership in their first two years together when Mostert joined the championship full-time in 2014, peaking with the youngster’s stunning Bathurst 1000 win in 2014 alongside another eight race wins and 24 podium finishes.
Retail group SuperCheap Auto celebrates its twentieth year as a major sponsor in Australian touring cars and will once again be Mostert’s primary backer. This year, his #55 racer sports a heavily revised red, yellow and black colour scheme.
“Supercheap Auto doesn’t do things by halves and our season is going to be exactly the same. I’m super pumped to have them on board again,” Mostert said at his car’s unveiling.
“They’re a fantastic team to work with and to have the continued support of some of our other sponsors is great as well. We can’t do this without them.
“At the end of the day though it doesn’t matter so much how the car looks but how it performs on track and I’m confident that the work the team’s done over the break will put us right up among the action again in 2017.”
