The FIA has announced it will open a new selection process to find more teams to bolster the grid for the 2011 season, and also confirmed it would fine one or two ‘reserve’ entrants to fill vacancies that may arise next season.
Candidates wishing to apply must register a formal expression of interest and a €1,000 fee by 15 April, and a final announcement as to the winning candidates will be made in July.
According to the FIA, the successful entrant should have "the technical ability and resources of the team; the ability of the team to raise and maintain sufficient funding to allow participation; the team’s experience and human resources and the FIA’s assessment of the value that the candidate may bring to the Championship as a whole."
Do we read between the lines and assume that USF1 and Stefan GP would not be welcome?
