While the fools Academy Award judges may have failed to give the film the credit it deserves, that hasn’t stopped the recognition for the SENNA documentary coming in from other sources, with Asif Kapadia’s epic film earning itself three BAFTA nominations.
The BAFTAs – the UK’s equivalent of the Oscars – have been held every year since 1947, and SENNA has earned itself three category nominations: Outstanding British Film, Outstanding Editing and Outstanding Documentary.
More recently, SENNA has been nominated at the upcoming Producers Guild of America Awards, and it also won the Best Documentary award at the British Independent Film Awards.
The awards will take place on 12 February at London’s Royal Opera House.
