Having seemingly spent much of 2011 moping around the paddock and driving into Felipe Massa – issues which he eventually attributed to his relationship break-up – Lewis Hamilton has seemingly reconciled again with on-again, off-again girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger.
A report in The Sun newspaper shows the pair being filmed holding hands on their way to a recent evening meal in Hollywood, supposedly around the time that Hamilton was in the United States shooting his much-criticised spread for fashion magazine GQ.
The pair had broken up for the second time last October, having first started dating back in 2007 when Hamilton met The Pussycat Dolls lead singer at the American Music Awards.
Last year’s break-up was attributed to Scherzinger’s hectic work schedule, which had seen her have little time to spend with Hamilton while she worked on her various music and TV commitments, which included being a judge on the US version of X Factor.
But the Hawaiian beauty has since been dumped from the show’s line-up, giving her plenty of spare time on her hands
for Jenson Button to encourage her to rekindle the romance with the McLaren driver.
One must question how much weight Hamilton placed on his recent comments during McLaren’s launch of its MP4-27 challenger, when he claimed he would put the events of 2011 behind him to focus fully on his 2012 championship campaign.
It will be interesting to see if his focus improves knowing that the TV directors will be very keen to cut to shots of Nicole in the McLaren garage when the on-track action gets a little bit dull…
