Australian songstress Kylie Minogue has been confirmed as the headline act for the F1 Rocks concert series at the Malaysian Grand Prix. The concert will be staged at the base of Kuala Lumpur’s iconic Petronas Twin Towers on Friday, 23 March, two days before the Grand Prix.
The actress-turned-singer has been in the industry for 25 years, selling over 68 million albums worldwide. Her last worldwide tour, ‘Aphrodite Les Folies’, spanned five continents, 27 countries, 55 cities and 77 sell-out shows in front of over 500,000 fans. Some of her hit singles include Locomotion, Better The Devil You Know, Spinning Around, and Can’t Get You Out Of My Head.
“I am really looking forward to visiting your beautiful country and performing for my Malaysian fans for the first time!” Minogue is quoted as saying.
“I will be visiting the Sepang International Circuit and the F1 paddock, sampling the action on the race track and cheering on my favourite drivers! I am so excited to be performing at F1 Rocks in front of the famous Petronas Twin Towers, I hope everyone enjoys the show!”
F1 Rocks organisers have also confirmed that R&B star Kelis will perform on the Saturday show alongside Malaysian artists James Baum, Reshmonu and dance group ElecoldXhot.
Minogue has been a regular fixture at Grands Prix around the world over the years in many VIP paddocks.
She is perhaps better known as being the person after whom Sebastian Vettel’s challenger, ‘Kinky Kylie’ was named.
