Vodafone McLaren Mercedes’ Jenson Button joined Vodafone customers this morning in officially opening Vodafone’s newest store in Victoria.
Button performed the honours at Vodafone’s brand-new store in Melbourne’s CBD in front of an enormous media throng and a host of Formula 1 fans.
Noel Hamill, Director Marketing and Sales at Vodafone commented, “Our new Melbourne store is a key element of our customer-centric strategy. Today, we’re not only opening the doors to a new destination for the latest and greatest in mobile technology, we’re also heralding in a new retail experience for our customers. This new site is also the largest Vodafone store in Victoria and demonstrates our ongoing commitment to improving our network and customer service in Victoria.”
Hamill added: “2012 marks the fifth year of our partnership with Vodafone McLaren Mercedes and through this partnership we have been able to deliver some exciting experiences for our customers. Today, Jenson Button opened our brand new store, which is the largest in Victoria, and hung out and chatted with some of our customers ahead of the start of the Formula 1 season tomorrow. That’s a bit different to their average Thursday morning, I expect!”
Some of those lucky customers also won a private tour of the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes team garage at this weekend’s Australian Grand Prix, which kicks off the 2012 Formula 1 championship.
Jenson Button said, “I’m delighted to open this brand new Vodafone store in the CBD here in Melbourne. It’s a really impressive facility, in a prime location, and it’s already clear that it’ll be an extremely busy and successful retail outlet for our title partner and total communications partner. I really enjoyed my visit, and it was good fun to meet the Vodafone customers and fans. I’m sure they’ll enjoy their garage tour!”
