Three more Australian celebrities will suit up for the Mazda6 Celebrity Challenge at next year’s Australian Grand Prix.
Former Collingwood AFL Premiership player Chris Tarrant, celebrity chef Shane Delia and Melbourne singer and media personality Em Rusciano have been unveiled as the latest star drivers to compete in the fender-bending event.
They will join the esteemed Olympic duo of gold-medal-winning cyclist Anna Mears and British rowing legend Sir Chris Hoy, along with Australia’s greatest ever Paralympian, Matthew Cowdrey.
Along with a further fourteen other celebrity drivers, they will get behind the wheel of the all-new diesel-fuelled Mazda6, which also features the carmaker’s SKYACTIV Technology featuring ‘i-ELOOP’ a unique capacitor-based brake energy regeneration system which is standard across the entire All-New Mazda6 range.
“We are delighted to have added Chris, Shane and Em to the driver roster for the Mazda6 Celebrity challenge and are looking forward to further driver announcements in the not too distant future,” Mazda Australia national marketing manager, Alastair Doak, said in today’s announcement.
The Mazda6 Celebrity Challenge will be one of several support category events staged during the Australian Grand Prix, which will also see the Australian Formula Ford, Porsche Carrera Cup and V8 Supercars Championship racers in action.
The 2013 Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix will be held at Melbourne’s Albert Park Circuit between 14-17 March. Visit the event’s official website to purchase your event tickets.
