Reigning Dunlop Series champion Dale Wood will drive for the Brad Jones Racing team in the 2014 V8 Supercars Championship season.
The 30-year-old takes over the Holden Commodore piloted last year by the Dick Johnson Racing-bound David Wall.
Wood’s #21 entry will enjoy major backing from the Advam card services firm, which coincidentally is a sister company to Wilson Security, which backs Wall. Other sponsors committed to Wood’s entry include GB Galvanising and Strategy One.
“This is an amazing opportunity, it’s a quality car and a quality team and I will have the chance to not only race against the best new talent from the development series but also against some of the most successful experienced drivers as well,” Wood said of his appointment.
Wood has had prior experience in the top-tier touring car category, having had a number of endurance co-driver outings as well as a part-season with the Kelly Racing stable in 2009.
Wood will in the three-car outfit as a teammate to incumbent drivers Jason Bright and Fabian Coulthard, both of whom were race-winners last year.
