Three more of this year’s V8 Supercars Championship teams have unveiled their 2014 livery schemes, with Dick Johnson Racing, the Holden Racing Team and Jack Daniel’s Racing (Nissan Motorsport) showcasing their looks for the upcoming championship.
Dick Johnson Racing headed to Queensland’s Lakeside circuit to unveil the pair of Ford Falcons it will use to contest the upcoming championship, with its brand new driver line-up of Scott Pye and David Wall also on hand.
Following an incredible turnaround in form over the course of 2013 – where the team went from race-to-race survival to race-winners in a matter of months – the grid’s oldest team has secured significant backing from Wilson Security and PAYCE, who both have major presence on the cars’ panels.
The launch took place in front of 150 guests, sponsors and VIPs at the former championship circuit, where team owner Dick Johnson enjoyed much success in his early touring car career.
The Holden Racing Team showed off the most radical livery change seen to-date, with incumbent drivers Garth Tander and James Courtney – who has fully recovered from his broken leg sustained late last year – doing the honours at Bathurst’s Mount Panorama circuit.
Having lost TOLL as its title sponsor during the off-season, the team secured SP Tools as a replacement major sponsor, with the company’s signage taking prominence on a significantly different livery for the new championship season.
“We’re proud to be launching the Holden Racing Team’s 2014 challengers at Bathurst, the scene of HRT’s seven famous victories in Australia’s Great Race,” said Adrian Burgess, the team’s new managing director.
“It’s an exciting new look for the cars. Matching our ambitious livery and increased presence from our major partners, the goal for HRT is to challenge for race wins and podiums on a consistent basis. This is Holden’s 45th season of official factory involvement in Australian motorsport and our intention is to give them reasons for celebration.”
Meanwhile, the other half of the four-car Nissan Motorsport stable used a moody photo shoot to display its Jack Daniel’s Racing colour scheme, which will propel brothers Rick and Todd Kelly in the 2014 championship.
The Jack Daniel’s drinks group, the brothers’ longstanding sponsor, is again on board as the pair’s naming rights sponsor, with the team gearing up its quartet of Nissan Altimas for its second season of racing.
Teammates James Moffat and Michael Caruso showed off the Norton Hornets’ sister racing colours earlier this week.
