After a few weeks break the GP2 series makes its return into unknown territory at the Red Bull Ring, for what will be the fourth round of the season.

Last round it was yellow domination, with DAMS Racing taking pole position, reverse pole and winning both feature and sprint Palmer Richelmi Austriaraces.

The series leader Jolyon Palmer extended his lead out to 46 points over Felipe Nasr during the last round in Monaco. Palmer is the only driver to score points in every race this season.

Venezuela GP Lazarus and Hilmer Motorsport will be hoping for better fortunes at a new track this weekend, as they are the only two teams yet to score championship points this year. Hilmer’s Facu Regalia has DNF every feature race so far this season.

ART have hit a slump and are on the lookout to kick start their season again, after such an impressive first race which saw rookie Stoffel Vandoorne win on debut. The outfit have gone every race since Vandoorne’s win without scoring points.

This weekend teams will pay extra attention to a crucial free practice session, as nobody really knows what to expect from the tyres on this circuit. Collecting data, setting up the car and choosing the right strategy in the feature race becomes imperative for teams as practice only lasts 45 minutes.
