We’re delighted to welcome our newest journalist to the RichardsF1.com team: Mitch Timms!
Mitch will be providing coverage of the inaugural FIA Formula E Championship, as well as presenting feature pieces on the other championship categories covered on our website.

Mitch Timms, our new Formula E writer
Originally from the Central Coast of New South Wales, but growing up in Brisbane from age three, Mitch’s first real taste of motorsport came when he attended the Lakeside Raceway round of the 1994 Australian Touring Car Championship.
From that point as a six-year-old he was hooked, and knew that a career in motorsport was what he wanted to do – and did everything in his power to attend as many events as possible, including several Gold Coast CART/IndyCar races.
Mitch has been fortunate to work in the Australian motorsport industry since 2005 whilst studying a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Queensland, where he worked alongside our own Yassmin Abdel-Magied.
After graduating in 2013, he has moved to a role as a V8 Supercar Design Engineer.
It is this passion for all things technical that has drawn him to the new FIA Formula E championship.
“Formula E is an exciting new series that is going to be different in many ways, both technical and operational, to any championship seen so far. I’m excited to be able to join the Richard’s F1 team to share my passion and provide a technical insight into Formula E,” he said.
You can also follow Mitch on Twitter at @101MitchTimms.
Please welcome Michael to the team!
