The full-time entry list for the 2015 V8 Supercars Championship season has now been finalised. Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport has promoted 2014 Pirtek Enduro Cup co-driver Tim Blanchard to drive its second Holden Commodore for the coming season.

The 27-year-old drove for the team as Russell Ingall’s co-driver during last year’s Pirtek Enduro Cup rounds at Sandown, Bathurst and Surfers Paradise; the pair claimed a pair of eighth-placed finishes in the final round.

The 2007 Australian Formula Ford champion and 2008 British Formula Ford runner-up has raced full-time in the V8 Supercars Championship in the past. After claiming runner-up spot in the Fujitsu development series, he substituted for the injured Greg Murphy at the Kelly Racing team in the back half of the 2012 season and then earned a full-season call-up with Dick Johnson Racing in 2013. Blanchard was soundly thrashed by rookie teammate Chaz Mostert when the FPR youngster joined DJR mid-season, finishing 26th overall in the standings.

Blanchard and Russell Ingall claimed a pair of eighth-placed finishes at Surfers Paradise.

“After sitting out a year from full-time driving, I was determined to get back on the gird in 2015,” Blanchard said of his return to the main game.

“When the opportunity arose to join Lucas and the team I was rather excited. Having worked with LDM last year it became evident that the team were making the rights steps in improving their performance.”

“I am thrilled to have Tim join us full-time this year. We have been in discussions since last years enduros – he did a really good job and was consistent throughout,” LDM team owner Lucas Dumbrell added.

“He showed tremendous potential and it was disappointing to see him without a drive last year. It is great to have Tim return to the category full-time and I have no doubt he will be competitive.”

Blanchard takes the final vacant seat on next year’s 25-car grid, with his entry set to receive backing from the Dodo mobile broadband group, which makes its return to the series as a naming rights sponsor.
