The Formula 1 cars will fire up again for the second of three pre-season test sessions as the field prepares for the season-opening Australian Grand Prix which takes place in less than a month.
After four days spent at the Circuito de Jerez in southern Spain, the field will head to Barcelona’s Circuit de Catalunya, for a total of eight days’ on-track running between February 19-22 and February 26 to March 1.
After Force India elected to skip the opening test while it continued preparations for its new VJM08 – or scrambled to cash to pay outstanding debts to its suppliers, depending on who you believe – the squad will be back in action tomorrow. However, the team will instead bring an upgraded version of last year’s car, the VJM07, and confirmed that it hopes to have its new car ready for the final pre-season test.
Bar Williams, all nine teams will give their main race drivers two days apiece behind the wheel – Williams will give test driver Susie Wolff one day of running, before Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa are given the remaining three days.
As usual, RichardsF1.com will be on hand to provide you with a complete run down of all four days’ testing action.
