Prodrive Racing has yet again dominated the field during the third race at Albert Park for the Australian Grand Prix.

Mark Winterbottom and Chaz Mostert finished a whopping 7.25 seconds ahead of next best finisher Shane Van Gisbergen. Van Gisbergen took second place from Mostert at the start of the race; however wasn’t fast enough to hold it as Mostert retook his place on the second lap.

This left Winterbottom and Mostert to charge away from the pack and battle amongst themselves for the remaining 10 laps. The gap between the pair got as close as half a second towards the end of the race, with Mostert putting in a fastest lap of 1:59.9634 on lap four.

Scott McLaughlin and Dale Wood were the unlucky drivers in Race Three, as McLaughlin retired after his S60 went up in smoke on the opening lap and lost communication to the team. Wood experienced an oil leak on lap three which forced him into the garage, however the team managed to get him running again towards the end of the race.

David Reynolds and Fabian Coulthard had a minor coming together on lap four where Coulthard was forced off the track at Turn 14, sending him down to 17th position.

Race 4 will begin at 12.05pm Sunday the 15th of March.
