Mark Winterbottom has won the fourth and final race of the MSS Security V8 Supercars challenge at Albert Park, again holding off team-mate Chaz Mostert and Shane Van Gisbergen.

The beginning of the race was chaotic as the controversial rolling start claimed its first victims of the weekend.

Drivers who were positioned 16th onwards are all currently under investigation for jumping the start, causing a pile up on the main straight which took out Nick Percat, Will Davison and Marcus Ambrose.

The carnage didn’t stop there as Craig Lowndes was tapped from behind by Fabian Coulthard causing him to spin, leaving Jason Bright with nowhere to go. The incident left many V8 Supercars fans calling for the rolling start to be scrapped on social media.

The safety car was brought out as a result of the start and lasted for three laps. Once track conditions went green business resumed as Winterbottom pulled away from the pack, setting the fastest lap of the race on lap seven to create a two second gap to Mostert.

Lee Holdsworth was a big winner from the starting fracas, climbing from 16th position to round out the top 10.
