Toro Rosso’s Max Verstappen is four points away from being suspended from a race weekend after collecting more penalty points at the Abu Dhabi GP.

The teenager received one penalty point for abusing track limits when he passed Jenson Button, and another two after he ignored blue flags as Lewis Hamilton was trying to lap him.

This brought his penalty points tally to eight, with drivers receiving a race ban if they accumulate 12 or more points within a 12-month period.

Verstappen received his first two points in Monaco as a result of his crash with Romain Grosjean, and then a further three points in Hungary when he drove too quickly during a safety car period.
