Nico Rosberg has held onto his second position for tomorrow’s British Grand Prix after the German was investigated by the Stewards for exceeding the maximum time allowed spent between the safety car lines.

However, after meeting with the Stewards, it was found that Rosberg hadn’t committed an offense as the German’s slow lap in Q1 was not set during an in-lap, therefore the regulation in question didn’t apply.

“Car 6 [Rosberg] was not on an in lap when the time between the Safety Car lines was set,” the Stewards said.

Rosberg will start the British Grand Prix on the front row ahead of the two Red Bull drivers Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo.
