Lewis Hamilton will start from pole position in the 2018 Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix after obliterating the lap record on a sensational qualifying session at Albert Park.
The World Champion now has a record seven poles in Australia – including five on the trot – to snatch another mantle from his idol Ayrton Senna (six).
Meanwhile, the earlier rain failed to dampen the spirits of F1 fans, with an estimated crowd of 73,500 in attendance to watch the cars and stars in action.
