Racing Point F1 Team have announced to reveal their 2019 car in Canada on February 13.
The newly renamed team will take the covers off next season’s challenger at the Canadian International Autoshow in Toronto, the home of billionaire Lawrence Stroll. Stroll led the consortium that rescued Force India from administration in August and is also the father of incoming 2019 driver Lance.
The car, with potentially a new identity under its new owners, is set to be revealed two days before Ferrari’s unveiling and five days before the first pre-season test gets underway at the Circuit de Catalunya.
Another name change for next season is still on the cards – as Otmar Szafnauer revealed earlier in December – meaning a new livery could be seen on the Silverstone team’s upcoming car.
Racing Point finished seventh in this year’s constructors’ championship in what was seen as an impressive performance from just nine rounds this season. The team had to sacrifice their points prior to the Belgian Grand Prix due to becoming a “new team” after Stroll’s takeover in August.
In 2019 the team will race with Sergio Perez and Stroll as they aim to challenge Renault and Haas for as high fourth in the constructors’ championship.
